After graduating from creative business school she was an art director in advertising where being on set in the pursuit of the perfect photograph would imprint on her future career. This led to directing and styling editorial content for publications and crafting commercial set design for a variety of contemporary brands. Ilana was the co-founder, creative director and editor of the Michelin star chef biannual food and lifestyle publication Jan The Journal.
